Most things are answered below. If yours isn't, there's a real person at the bottom of the page.

How Eunice works

  1. Set up in two minutes. When you first open the app, tell Eunice your first name, the time you'd like your morning verse, and one to three areas you want to grow in. Your time zone is detected automatically; you can change it in Settings. There is no account to create.
  2. Morning verse. At your chosen time, Eunice sends a push notification with one verse (and its reference) plus a short reflection or prayer based on what you've shared. Tap it to open Today, where you can read it aloud, share it as a card, or add it to your journal. This is free.
  3. Bible. The Bible tab holds the whole Bible, offline: the World English Bible (modern English) and the King James Version. Tap any verse to highlight it, copy it, share it as a card, add it to your journal, or ask Eunice about it. Free.
  4. Journal. The Journal tab has two sections: Entries (dated, free-text, with an optional verse, mood, and prompt) and Prayers (the list Eunice builds from what you tell her plus the ones you add; mark one answered and it moves to the Answered list with the date). Writing is free; Eunice reading and responding to what you write is part of Plus.
  5. Talk any hour. Open the Eunice tab and write. She replies in a few short lines. Ask her to pray, ask a question, ask her to read you Psalm 23, or just tell her how the day went. This is Eunice Plus, with a 7-day free trial.
  6. Memory and follow-ups. Mention something coming up ("interview Thursday") and Eunice will check in the morning of and the day after. On Sunday evenings she sends a short reflection on your week. In Settings you can see and remove what she remembers. Plus.
  7. Check-ins. Eunice occasionally nudges you on your growth areas. Never more than one unprompted message a day besides the morning one, nothing between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and she backs off automatically if you stop replying. Plus.

Common questions

What's free and what's in Eunice Plus?

Free, forever: the morning verse and reflection at your time with a notification, the full Bible (WEB and KJV), the journal and prayer list, and shareable verse cards. Eunice Plus ($4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, 7-day free trial) adds talking to Eunice any hour, prayer, memory and follow-ups, gentle check-ins, the weekly reflection, and Eunice's notes on your journal. When a trial or subscription ends, you keep the free app; nothing you wrote goes away.

My morning verse didn't arrive.

Check three things: (1) iPhone Settings → Notifications → Eunice → Allow Notifications is on; (2) Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing Eunice at that hour; (3) in the app, Settings → Morning time and time zone are what you expect. If all of that looks right and it's still missing, email us with the date and your time zone and we'll look at the logs.

How do I change my morning time or growth areas?

In the app, go to Settings (the gear on Today). Morning time, time zone, quiet hours, and growth areas are all editable there and take effect from the next morning.

Which Bible translations are included, and can I switch?

The World English Bible (WEB) and the King James Version (KJV). Both are public domain, which is what lets us bundle the whole Bible for free. WEB is the default; switch in Settings → Bible translation, or from the translation button at the top of any chapter. Both are stored on your phone, so reading works without a connection.

How do I highlight, copy, or share a verse?

In the Bible tab, tap a verse. A small menu offers Highlight, Copy, Share card, Add to journal, and Ask Eunice. Highlights are saved and appear in colour whenever you come back to that chapter. Tap a highlighted verse again to remove the highlight.

Does the Bible remember where I was?

Yes. The Bible tab reopens on the last chapter you were reading. You can also search by word or by reference ("John 3:16", "Psalm 23") from the search field at the top.

The Bible text is too small, or too bright at night.

Eunice follows your iPhone's text size (Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size, or Dynamic Type in Accessibility). For night reading, turn on the night theme from the "Aa" button at the top of any chapter, or let it follow your phone's dark mode.

How does the journal work?

Journal → Entries → the plus button. Write as much or as little as you like, add a mood if you want, and attach a verse from the Bible tab or today's verse. Eunice offers a prompt each day on Today; you can use it or ignore it. Entries are dated automatically and listed newest first. On Plus, Eunice reads what you write and leaves a short, gentle note; on the free tier your entries are yours alone.

How do prayers and "answered" work?

Journal → Prayers. Eunice adds prayers from things you tell her ("my mom's surgery is on the 12th"), and you can add your own with the plus button. Swipe or tap a prayer to mark it answered; it moves to the Answered list with the date, so you can look back on it. You can edit or delete any prayer, including the ones Eunice added.

Are my journal and prayers private?

They're stored on our server so they survive a reinstall and so Eunice can respond to them on Plus. We don't read them, sell them, or use them for ads. Delete everything in Settings erases them along with everything else. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

How do I pause Eunice for a while?

Settings → Pause. Eunice stops sending morning messages and check-ins until you resume. The Bible and journal keep working. A Plus subscription keeps running while paused; cancel it with Apple if you want billing to stop too.

How do I cancel Eunice Plus?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Eunice → Cancel Subscription. If you cancel during the free trial you won't be charged. If you cancel later, you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for, then the app simply goes back to free.

Can I get a refund?

Apple decides refunds for App Store purchases, and we can't issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find Eunice, and choose "Request a refund". Apple usually responds within a couple of days.

How do I delete my data?

In the app: Settings → Delete everything → confirm. Your name, settings, conversations, journal entries, prayers, highlights, memories, and push token are erased immediately and can't be recovered. This doesn't cancel an Apple subscription; do that separately in iPhone Settings. You can also email us and we'll delete it by hand.

Is Eunice a real person?

No. Eunice is an AI. We say so in the app and on this site, and she will tell you if you ask. She isn't a pastor or a counsellor, and she will point you to your church and the people around you when that's the honest thing to do.

Eunice said something that felt wrong.

Sometimes she will. She's software, and she makes mistakes. Please email us the message (a screenshot is perfect) so we can look at it and fix the pattern. Test everything she says against Scripture and your own community.

I'm in a crisis right now.

Please don't wait for an app. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) any time, or call 911 in an emergency. Outside the US, call your local emergency number. Eunice is built to point you to these lines too, but a real person on the phone is better.

What phone do I need? Is there an Android version?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. There's no Android version yet.
